This past May, New Beginnings was recognized by one of our largest Social Service Agency partners, Westhab, at their annual Celebration Dinner.  We were awarded the “Changing Lives Award,” which recognizes our partnership with them and the impact we have had on the greater Westchester community.

Remarks by Rich Nightengale, CEO of Westhab:

"One of Westhab’s central purposes is helping people transition from homelessness to permanent housing. Watching individuals and families reach their goal and achieve independence is one of the most rewarding parts of our work. However, this work doesn’t end when someone signs a lease - we all know how much more it takes to make a house a home. Westhab is fortunate to have partners who help us with furniture and essential supplies to achieve stability. This year’s Changing Lives Award honoree - New Beginnings of Westchester - is Westchester’s one-stop shop for household supplies including linens, towels, cookware, and utensils. Anyone working in social services in Westchester County has made the pilgrimage to the tiny beehive of activity in Ossining to load up on essential supplies for our clients. I would guess that New Beginnings provides more support per square foot than any other organization I’ve ever seen. It is clearly a labor of love and an incredible way to engage the greater community in supporting our neighbors in need. Providing support  to hundreds of households each year, Westhab is pleased to present the 2020 Changing Lives Award to New Beginnings of Westchester."
